Gardening

Keep leaving me suggestions for blog fodder, k? (Scroll down to the next post.)

Today, pictures from my garden:

I was cleaning out my back window box and found a bird nest.

It’s really kind of pretty. It has some old flowers and moss and pine needles. I’m wondering if I can, you know, sell it on eBay or something.

The first peonies of the season:

And guess what guess what! We went back to the Nora Roberts nursery today and I bought some petunias and put them in my front window box. Weee!

They’re “wave” petunias (which, from what I gather, is a new breed) and they’ll kind of cascade out of the box and not grow upwards so that I can still open my kitchen windows. Yay!

And here’s a gratuitous I-have-the-cutest-backyard-ever picture:

Any suggestions on what I should plant to grow on those trellises? I was thinking of yellow jasmine.

I was thinking of yellow jasmine actually, but I found some beautiful white jasmine too. Maybe I could do white jasmine on one trellis and yellow or pink roses on another one. Oh, the possibilities. :-)

The bird's nest is lovely! It's a pity there weren't anymore birds in it, otherwise it would have been precious wouldn't it! You're so lucky to have nature right at your doorstep. :)

I think either yellow, blue or pink flowers would be nice for that patch. :D
