My Favorite Podcasts

I got stuck in traffic last week and it took me 3 and a half hours to get home. That’s never fun, but my iPhone and my long selection of podcasts made it a lot more bearable. Here are some of my favorite podcasts. Check them out, and give me your favorites in the comments!

2252073Will Write For Wine – This ‘cast is now defunct, but there are the occasional special returns, and if you haven’t heard it before, the old ones are still relevant. There’s also a really fun forum community. I will warn you, it’s more about writing than wine.

shm-mastheadStay Happily Married – I found this via Lifehacker (I think– somewhere like that) and later discovered that it’s actually a local Raleigh podcast. Um, also, ahem ahem, I was once a guest on the podcast. But I really did listen to it before I had a guest spot, promise. Lots of great advice and interesting guests.

logobigYou Look Nice Today – Irreverent, politically incorrect, and hilarious. I sometimes listen to this on the treadmill, but it’s kind of a bad idea, as it makes me laugh, and it’s hard to laugh when I’m trying to breathe. Or maybe it’s hard to breathe when I’m laughing. One or the other. It’s difficult.

Your turn: What are your favorite podcasts?

Thanks for the tips, my ipod is 90% full of podcasts. I have a pretty diverse set of things I listen to every week.
    1. Podiobooks. Everything from Sigler, Hutchins, Lafferty, Harwood, Rossi, Lowell, etc.
    2. PokerRoad. They have a bunch of poker-related podcasts.
    3. TwoJacksInTheHole. From PR. It’s……inappropriate humor.
    4. ESPN Football Today. I just blogged about this. I stopped liking football for a decade, until my son became a big fan. Now, I’m an addict again.
    5. 60 Second Science. Nuff said.
    6. NPR Stuff. This American Life, Wait Wait, Car Talk.

I keep meaning to get some NPR stuff added to my list. Love Car Talk. Thanks for the suggestions!

I like Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips. There are all kinds of “quick and dirty” podcasts about different topics. My current favorite though is Daily Audio Bible. You actually “read” through the Bible in a year. And actually, my church (Daystar Christian Fellowship) is podcasting sermons now, so that’s pretty cool if I miss a week.
