North Carolina Authors, Part 2

My North Carolina Authors original post, Part 1 got so long that I had to start breaking it up! Go back and read part 1 first, and I’ll meet you here when you’re done.

Cool? Cool. Here are some more great North Carolina authors:

Claudia Dain- Claudia is, I think, one of the savviest people I know. She’s smart, funny, and has a business sense like you would not believe. All of that comes through in her books, I think. I really enjoyed some of her older books, and now she’s got a series out with a completely different tone than her older books, which I also love. It centers around a smart, funny, savvy woman. Imagine that! Here’s my review of The Courtesan’s Daughter, the first in her courtesan series.

51+puf8seUL._SL500_I heard the author refer to this book as a “romp,” and I couldn’t agree more. The playful, fast-paced back and forth between the large cast of characters will keep you turning pages and laughing as you go. Enjoyable read, well done, and lots of fun!

North Carolina Authors, Part 1

North Carolina is packed with authors. There are tons. Tons, I tell you. By request of @glowbird (thanks!) I’m going to give you my list of authors that I know, and a bit about some of their books. (Most of these are going to be romance authors, because those are the people I know, but check below my list for places to find more NC authors, romance and otherwise.)

This post got really long really fast, so this is just part 1. Stay tuned for more North Carolina authors in the near future!

Elizabeth Amber- She writes really steamy stuff! I have some of her books in my TBR pile, but haven’t read them yet, but I have it on good authority that if you like erotic romance, she’s the author to try!

41ROLuW6hIL._SL500_Jenna Black- Scary, sexy paranormal stuff is her bag. She’s got 2 different series going right now, and another on the way. Here’s my review of The Devil Inside to get you started on her urban fantasy Morgan Kinsley series: Continue reading

Books, Books, Books!

Have you noticed that whenever I really have nothing to say, I can still talk to you about books? Here you go:

Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie

Loved this. It was sexy and cute and smart, not unlike the hero and heroine. They were extremely likable, in a flawed way, and their character arcs were really fun. Fulfilling read, and I hope to find more like this one!

Morrigan’s Cross (Circle trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts

As always, I love what fun Nora Roberts’ worlds are to live in. She makes me want to visit every place she describes, and the worlds in this book are no exception.

I found this one to be a little darker than my normal Nora Roberts reads, but enjoyable still. Looking forward to the next ones in the series!
