2009 was a pretty big year for me. Despite my lack of resolutions (on purpose), it’s been a great, full, happy year. I created my Hit by a Bus contingency plan and then proceeded to not get hit by a bus, which was awesome. It was the year of social networking for me (and I imagine for a lot of others, too) and I kept in touch with my friends like I never imagined I’d be able to 10 years ago. I appeared several places, which might have been my 15 minutes of fame, and I enjoyed every second of it. Gained fitness and a great friend in running with Jamie. Celebrated 5 years of marriage with the love of my life.
Trips? Las Vegas for bachelorette weekend with Skye, Portland for Skye’s wedding, Seattle to see the sights and visit some friends, Williamsburg on the most humid day of the year, Richmond to check out my parents’ new house and explore.

Some bad stuff happened, too. My car got snowed in. Not snowed in, but actually snowed in, as in there was snow inside it. (Is it sad that I actually, in retrospect, don’t mind that my car had a foot of snow in it because that blog post got more hits than any other post this year? I know, I’m a nerd.) And I failed at NaNoWriMo again. Next year is mine.
All in all, though, it’s been a great 2009. 2010 looks like it will be even better, what with my first novel-length work getting published– exciting times ahead!
How was your 2009? What are you looking forward to in 2010?
