My NaNoWriMo 2010 idea finally showed up, and not a moment too soon! It’s been one of those years where nothing really “grabs” me enough to feel like it will give me enough momentum to get through the entire month. You scoff, but when you’re writing 50,000 words in 30 days, you’d better darn well like your idea!
So what’s my idea? I’m using the theme of my year as a jumping off point. You know that big old 30 Before 30 list? Fun, right? Fun enough to be a novel? I think so. No, it’s not going to be about me– just another almost-30-year-old on a quest to have some awesome life experiences. Here’s the blurb and the cover. (What? NaNoWriMo hasn’t even started yet. I’m totally allowed to Photoshop procrastinate.)
28-year-old Eve has it all going for her– a great apartment, a cute dog, and the best almost-fiance ever… but the week before her 29th birthday, the best almost-fiance ever dumps her, kicks her out of their apartment, and claims custody of their dog. Rather than allow herself to fall into a tailspin, Eve embarks on a journey to complete 30 Big Things before her 30th birthday: a 30 Before 30 list.
