My college a cappella group’s 10-year alumni reunion was this past weekend. Honestly, I almost didn’t go. I wasn’t sure who was going to be there– besides the faithful, er, one– and I hadn’t been to an a cappella concert in a really long time, and college students think 30-year-olds are creepy and weird, and I don’t want to be creepy and weird.
But I went.
And hung out with a few buddies from those days of old. We visited over pizza and then listened to the new generation of singers (who are waaaay better than we ever were, and were totally a pleasure to hear) and then a few of us went out for beers. And it was so. much. fun. I forgot how much I hung out with this people and how close I was to all of them. It was like seeing your brothers again, except these brothers are willing to talk to you because you’re not really their way dorky sister.
So, thanks, Ryan, Roice, and Travis, for a lovely evening, and thanks current Walk-Ons, for making the group better than it’s ever been. I mean that.
