Last week, I promised you an update on Project 333. November 30 is technically my last day of Cycle 1, but I had a day free today and switched out all my stuff for Cycle 2. Yes, I’m doing this crazy thing again for the next three months. So we’ll call it a success.
I did pick up a few things during the course of Cycle 1. I purchased: a pair of boots, a pair of flats, and a black skirt. The shoes were pure weakness. I love shoes. I will probably always love shoes. I will probably never be able to kick the habit. Forgive me, readers, for I have sinned.
The skirt, though, I had to buy for a performance that I was in. (It required a long black skirt.) And then I wore it a couple times.
I also got some stuff from my sister when she cleaned out her closet, and I wore it during Cycle 1: four tops and a blazer. I didn’t pick enough tops to get through my three months when I got started, especially with the changing seasons, so I was grateful to have them, even if it was cheating.
All told, I ended up with 43 things for Cycle 1, including jewelry, shoes, outerwear, and my purse.
And, you know what? It wasn’t bad. I had a little boredom strike at the end of month one, but after that, I settled back down and made it through pretty uneventfully. It was nice never to have to think about whether I needed to buy clothes or not. (The answer was always no.) Or whether I could find an outfit that fit, was clean, and matched. (The answer was always yes.)
If you’re curious, you can see all the items from Cycle 1, and a few outfit pictures on my Picasa album. (I got bored and stopped taking outfit pictures after a few days.)
Next up? Cycle 2. Get excited!
