Flying (Not Literally) Non-stop (Pretty Much Literally)

Wow, guys, wow. Life is busy. I have been flying (not literally) non-stop (pretty much literally) this week, trying to keep up with rehearsals, cooking, cleaning, writing projects, volunteer projects, and– oh yeah– the stuff I actually get paid for. This weekend is another flurry of stuff, but Monday, blissful holiday Monday, is on the horizon. Maybe I will spend the whole day in my pajamas, reading all the books I haven’t had time to read this week.

Here’s what’s up:

What I Wrote

I less-than-successfully concocted a cocktail called a sweet standard. It sucked.

I then gave you my take on vulgarity (and my apologies to all Downton Abbey fans).

My post on giant(ish) bubbles came to my blog, where everyone let me know that I am mentally challenged for not using a bigger bubble wand.

We also had a Pinteste round-up (where I highlight the awesome comments from the week) and many had to do with penises, because we are a very mature group of people.

I made a DIY temporary tattoo that I sort of wish had been less permanent. Happily, it all washed off when I washed my hair yesterday.

And, in a sponsored post, I talked about personality types and asked my readers why it’s important to know yourself.

On Teh Internets

I’m still unabashedly begging you for Weblog Awards nominations. If you feel so inclined, please nominate Pintester!

What I Watched

The Queen of Versailles – If you like being angry because the multi-millionaires on your screen driving to McDonald’s in their limo feel sorry for themselves because they might have to sell the biggest house in the whole world, watch this. Seriously, though, it was interesting in the way Hoarders or Real Housewives is interesting, in that it makes you feel better for how comparatively not messed up you are.

The Highest Pass – My husband picked this one. It sucked hard. One star. Half a star. Hell, I’d give it negative stars if I could. There is nothing good about driving a motorcycle up an icy pass. It’s just stupid, and in no way a “spiritual journey.” I wanted to slap every person they interviewed every time they came on the screen.

Frankenweenie – Creepy and disturbing, but also kind of cute. Is that possible?

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries – If you’ve read Pride & Prejudice, you should definitely watch this. I will go so far as to say that even if you sort of waded through Pride & Prejudice and didn’t really enjoy it that much, you should definitely watch this. It’s an updated YouTube version of P&P and it’s very good. The actors are fantastic and I love how the writers don’t dumb everything down. You have to read the undertones and decide whether or not to trust the narrator, and all that stuff I love about a good book… like Pride & Prejudice. Anyway, I think you’ll like it.

Other Crap

If you want to keep up with me on a minute by minute basis and just can’t wait to find out what the next piece of gray matter I toss up on the Internets will be, you can follow me on TwitterFacebookPinterest, and Tumblr. (I try to post different stuff in all these places, so you won’t get inundated with the exact same thing if you follow all of them.)

Not sure why “the highest pass” was listed as a documentary. It was just some stupid guys who happened to have a camera while being stupid.
