Tiny Movie Reviews

I don’t have the energy to write long reviews. I write reviews for the books I read, but they’re usually a short paragraph long. Movies I want to spend even less time reviewing. So, here you go: some teeny-tiny Twitter-sized movie reviews of the ones I’ve seen recently…

Cowboys & Aliens: I was sold on the title alone, but it delivered and more. I mean, come on. Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and ALIENS. Sold.

Burlesque: A lot like Coyote Ugly except with more musical numbers. I was ok with that. Also, my fav Stanley Tucci was adorable as always.

My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend: Stab-your-eye-out boring until the very end, but with such a good ending that I was almost ok with it.

When in Rome: Low expectations save the day. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t nearly as terrible as I’d feared. Plus Kristen Bell is cute.

#20 Write a Movie Script: Almost There!

Skye and I won ScriptFrenzy! Yay!

Pictured right is Skye standing at the summit and pulling my unwilling ass to the top. She is the reason we won, and the reason we are almost finished with this script. She wrote most of the pages for the month, did a lot of the plotting legwork, and tirelessly encouraged me, even though I am really annoying and lame and can barely squeeze out a few pages every 3 days. In short, she is awesome.

We’re putting the finishing touches on the script this week, and I think we’re on track to wrap it up shortly here.

#20 Write a Movie Script: Coming Soon!

ScriptFrenzy starts on Friday, and this year, my bestest buddy Skye and I are in. We’ve had many a plot-session, have patted each other generously on the back numerous times for our genius ideas, and are ready to get to writin’. What are we writing, you ask? See for yourself:

Yes, I spent an hour making that while I could have been plotting. Shut it. It’s part of the creative process. We both watched all the seasons of Veronica Mars around the same time, and we both went, “Noooooo!” when the season finale was over. So this is our attempt to fix the ending the way we want it.
