It’s week 1 of January… How many of you have given up on your resolutions already? I have to tell you, January is a TOUGH month to start something new. It’s cold, it’s dark, you have a new bed that’s soooo hard to get out of in the morning… Oh wait, that’s just me. Heh. Anyways.

As I mentioned, I made no resolutions in 2009, on purpose. I’m not pleased with my personal growth in 2009, though. I had  good year in general, but most of that was circumstantial– I had awesome luck in 2009. This year, I’m taking some control and hunting down some good luck instead of just letting it come to me.

So this year I’m all about one major resolution: MAKE ROUTINES. (more…)

Monster Dash Fun

Yesterday was the Raleigh Monster Dash, and Jamie and I went for it, though woefully undertrained for the past few weeks. (Here we are– smile, Jamie!)

Weekly Fatass, Edition 5

Tuesday and Thursday, June 2 and 4

Jamie and I did our regular 2-mile route both days. We’re CRUSHING IT. So, I think we’re going to increase our distance to an actual 5k sometime soon. Yay for us!

Saturday, June 6

1.2 miles on the Tobacco trail. I kicked Robbie’s butt. But he probably won’t admit it.

Weekly Fatass, Edition 4

Tuesday, May 26

Distance: 2 miles
Time: I dunno, maybe 40 minutes?

We did well. A lot more running than the first time we went out, and a fairly uneventful run, with a lack of toe cramps and bug swallowing. Running with a chatty friend is so much more fun than running by myself or with someone who only wants to talk about running, heh.

As an aside, I added up the miles I’ve run for the past three weeks. Week 1 was 2.8 miles, week 2 was 6.6 miles, and week 3 was 5 miles. I think that’s pretty awesome. And this week I’m well on my way to hitting 6 miles or so. Go me.

Thursday, May 28

Ran with Robbie on the Tobacco Trail, the usual 1.2 miles or so. We ran most of it, although slowly so I could keep up. :) Still, I’m proud.
