New York Times best-seller Cherry Adair hosts workshop for NC writers

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cherry Adair will host a workshop for local writers Saturday, October 8, 2011, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel on Page Rd at Research Triangle Park. The all-day workshop, organized by local writers’ network, Heart of Carolina Romance Writers, is for writers who are looking to improve their craft and break into the publishing industry.

Partners in Crime… and Writing (Sonja’s Take)

Melinda Skye, writing partner extraordinaire for ScriptFrenzy this month, wrote an awesome post on partner writing that you should go read right now. Here’s a little piece of it:

It wasn’t completely a smooth road. There were a few hiccups. The first one came when Sonja sent me back the script (really early on) with a character standing in a fluffy dress. There was no explanation for the dress or what was going on.

I are evil. By the way, she did a great job writing the subsequent scene, even without knowing where I was going. (Honestly, I didn’t really know where I was going either.) Read the rest of the post!

#20 Write a Movie Script: Coming Soon!

ScriptFrenzy starts on Friday, and this year, my bestest buddy Skye and I are in. We’ve had many a plot-session, have patted each other generously on the back numerous times for our genius ideas, and are ready to get to writin’. What are we writing, you ask? See for yourself:

Yes, I spent an hour making that while I could have been plotting. Shut it. It’s part of the creative process. We both watched all the seasons of Veronica Mars around the same time, and we both went, “Noooooo!” when the season finale was over. So this is our attempt to fix the ending the way we want it.
